Are You Worth It?

Is it worth investing in yourself to get you where you want to be?

Ever wanted something extravagant like a new car or a new house or a cruise to some tropical paradise and you had to convince yourself (and probably your spouse) that you were worth the expense? That the experience would be worth it even though you might be paying for it for many years to come? You justify the expense by saying “I work hard!” “I deserve something new!” or “I deserve to be rewarded” or “I have earned this vacation!”

And – you probably have earned it! We all have to reward ourselves from time to time as it gives us a break from the mundane. Those rewards keep us going and make us work harder and keep pushing forward. If we are always working and not being rewarded, what’s the point? Right?

We can all justify some purchase we have made. We did earn it. And we enjoyed every minute of that reward!

Now – what’s interesting is… when it comes to getting that new car or new house or that cruise, people find a way to pay for them. Where there’s a will there’s a way… how many times have I said that!!! #Guilty! People say “I don’t care what it takes, I will get that _____” or “I’m going to do ______ one way or another!”

They have drive and ambition to make sure that THING happens… and all those “things” are great to look at or drive or take pictures of the adventure and make memories for a lifetime.

But what about when it comes to things you can’t see? Things you might not get an instant reward from, like a purchase. I’m talking about investing in yourself for the future.

If buying a new car or taking a “once in a lifetime trip” is so worth it, then why wouldn’t you invest in yourself so you could have MORE of those things more often?

You see, people place value on material things for instant gratification. But many don’t see the value in investing in their future for the long haul in order to enjoy many more of these things.

And it isn’t just about having more money to spend…. It’s about creating a lifestyle where you are in control of your own time and one where you have financial freedom.

What I mean by investing in yourself = learning how to be your own boss. Identifying your superpower (what are you good at?) and using that skillset to create a home-based business where you are the boss!

Usually, that doesn’t happen overnight. It takes commitment to the goal. Seeking out the great leaders in that niche who can mentor you to the next level. Eventually, you will make it if you put forth the effort! It’s a given! Just keep pushing forward and investing time, effort and money into good training programs that will get you where you want to be!

In all fairness, not everyone is cut out to be a leader or want the freedom to work from home. That’s ok…

But if you do want to be your own boss, you have to invest in yourself by committing to a training program for a period of time that will get you where you want to be.

I remember the first Amazon selling course I ever bought. It was $697. I didn’t even tell my husband I spent that money on a course… but I knew I was on a mission. I wanted to retire early and I needed to learn as fast as I could how to sell on Amazon. Fast forward 3 years, and many more courses after that one… I will be retiring in 26 days at the time of this writing!

I have worked extremely hard and invested in myself to create a solid skill set that allows me to make money from home and be my own boss.

I hear people justify a $5000 1-week vacation all the time. But when presented with a LIFETIME opportunity – one where you can take many $5000 vacations… they think it’s crazy to spend that kind of money.

Think about that the next time you complain about having to go to work for a crappy boss or backstabbing co-workers or that hectic commute every morning, or not having enough vacation days to take 1 vacation and still be able to take your kids to the doctor and everything else you need to do.

Imagine what it would be like to not have to be on someone else’s schedule. Not having to get approval for vacation days.

Being able to take a vacation anytime you want.

Or remodel your kitchen and not worry about the expense.

Or whatever is important to you…

Because you have confidence that you are in control of your life and your finances.

Imagine having that kind of time freedom and financial freedom.

I know some of you will say “I can watch tons of YouTube videos to figure it out for FREE” and yes you can… but you will only get about 75% of what you actually need and struggle through trial and error to get the remaining 25%. They never tell you everything… they only tell you just enough to keep you coming back…

The advantage of buying a course and learning exact skills, systems and processes is to speed up the timeframe to when you start making money. You can struggle for 3 years watching YouTube or you can buy a course and learn exact steps in 3 months. Which would you rather do?

I was on a mission to retire by the time I turned 58. I gave my notice 2 weeks later.

Here’s some figures to help put this idea into perspective…

After investing in that $697 Amazon course, once I found my first client where I could sell their products, I sold over $18000 in the first 3 weeks after listing just one item. My commission on that one item was over $2700.

I invested in learning how a few months earlier in Feb. I opened my Amazon store June 7th. Within 3 weeks, I had recouped that investment 4 X’s over.

So, I’ll leave you with this thought…

Anyone can get what they want --- if they want it bad enough and are willing to commit to the steps that will get them there.

So, if you have goals and dreams of retiring early or just working from home being your own boss...

Ask yourself… is it worth investing in yourself to get you where you want to be?

Are you worth it?

Til next time…
